Xcel Like a Girl’s mission is to inspire, equip, and champion the next generation of girls and young women to break barriers, build boldly, and lead fearlessly in the construction industry.
Xcel is proud to partner with the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Greater Palm Beach Chapter to build a vibrant pipeline of inspiration, mentorship, and opportunity, empowering girls and young women to thrive and lead in the construction industry.

Together, Xcel Like a Girl and the NAWIC Greater Palm Beach Chapter are launching a powerful series of events designed to inspire, mentor, and elevate girls and young women in construction. Throughout the year, we will host impactful experiences across three key areas:
Inspiration, where hands-on workshops and career showcases spark curiosity and confidence;
Mentorship, offering meaningful connections through panels, shadowing opportunities, and leadership roundtables;
Visibility, celebrating achievements and amplifying voices through public showcases, media features, and community events.
Each initiative blends Xcel’s empowering mission with NAWIC’s deep industry expertise, creating a lasting pipeline of opportunity and support.

“Build Boldly” Speaker
Series:
NAWIC members and other experts will share their journeys, challenges, and triumphs in construction. Some of the themes:
- Breaking Barriers: Stories of overcoming gender bias
- Blueprints to Leadership: Career paths from trades to executive roles
- Tools of the Trade: Technical skills and innovations
Construction Career Discovery
Days:
Hands-on events at job sites, training centers, or schools. Activities could include:
- Tool demos and safety gear tutorials
- Mini build projects (birdhouses, planter boxes)
- Q&A with tradeswomen and project managers
“From Classroom to Construction” Panels:
Partner with schools or youth programs to host panels featuring:
- NAWIC members in diverse roles (engineers, estimators, welders)
- Tips on navigating trade school, apprenticeships, or college
- Interactive resume and interview prep stations
Summer Camp

A highlight of this collaboration will be the launch of a Girl Construction Summer Camp, an immersive multi-day experience where participants explore trades, tackle real-world build challenges, and connect with inspiring mentors, all in a fun, supportive environment that builds skills and confidence.
Girl Construction Summer Camp: An immersive camp designed for middle and high school girls to explore the world of construction through:
- Hands-on building projects and tool training
- Mentorship circles and leadership workshops
- Team challenges that foster collaboration and problem-solving
